Government loses 15 billion rupees annually due to corruption in departments and corporations etc., says Auditor General

The investigations by the Department of Auditor General reveals that the government loses around 15 billion rupees annually due to the corruption and fraud in public departments, corporations and other establishments.

The Department of Auditor General points out that a gradual increase in corruption has recorded in some government establishments within the past three years.

Inland Revenue, Immigration and Emigration, Registration of Motor Vehicles, Registration of Persons etc. lead the list of most corrupt government departments.

The Department of Auditor General criticizes the law enforcement authorities for their lack of interest to conduct proper investigations on the corrupt officials.
